A man prepares for death, washing and wrapping himself in the kafan as his mother reminds him only deeds and prayers matter. As the soul transcends the body, it confronts visions of the afterlife — demonic figures, mythical creatures, three guarded doors — exploring death through sex, drugs, and rock and roll as much as ritual and prayer. Plunged into a metaphorical sea of memory, love, and loss, he searches for his mother's voice amid the waves. He awakens on a lake shore met by angels. What lies beyond the waterfall?
